Newfound Bass Fishing Interest Spawns Book Surge

Not in a million years would anyone be able to predict that bass fishing would go mainstream. I mean, even Faith Popcorn the celebrated predictor of pop trends would be stumped on this one. So just how big is bass fishing? It is growing with leaps and bounds. Now it is no Nascar, nor is it as popular as World Cup Soccer, but is huge compared to formal standards.

Consider this, ESPN, Fox Sports and other channels have dedicated write ups and video spots highlighting bass fishing. Is it any wonder that a scant review of Amazon.com the massive online purveyor of books and just about anything else, reports selling massive loads of not just fishing books, but specifically bass fishing books.

Here are the top three bass fishing books as of this writing…
#1 Bass Fishing Book
Larry Larsen’s, “Bass Tactics – How You Can Catch More and Bigger Bass”. This book promises to show you how anyone can catch bigger bass. Not just some of the time either, but more of the time. Of course you can go to your local Books a Million or go online to Amazon and read clips of the book before you buy. Your purchase is always guaranteed. But some people think because they are buying it online, that if they get it and it stinks like a rotting trophy bass you forgot to get out of the cooler last week, they will be stuck. Not true. Amazon has a quick and easy return process. But you will have to send the book back to them. So, there is the double shipping cost that you will pay.

#2 Bass Fishing Book
Bass Fishing in Georgia. Do you want to bass fish where the largest bass on record has been caught? Okay, then you should take a look at Georgia. This book is an indispensable resource because it is all about bass fishing in Georgia. It does not talk about Mexico, Montana, Florida etc. just GA. It will give you shortcuts that only the author who is a magazine editor wanted to reveal in this treasured copy. You can make easy on yourself by looking up this resource.

#3 Bass Fishing Book
This final resource is helpful for novices and intermediate bass fishermen. It is Cy Decoss’s Advanced Bass Fishing Book.
Inside you will find helpful tips from the weather, bait selection, what to do and how to do it. Written in everyday language that is easy to read and understand. You should not get bored with this one.

Even with bass fishing getting so much air time on television with ESPN, it makes sense when you think about it. The competitions are a riot to watch. For one thing, it sure beats going outdoors to shovel snow in my driveway again for the third time today during this winter snow storm.

Top Reasons For Joining Bass Fishing Clubs

If you live in a decent sized town, you could peruse the Yellow Pages and notice that there are clubs or organizations for literally anything. Just a cursory look will find a Retired Physicians Club, the Grand Rapids Women’s Literary Club, The Detroit Ballet Club, the Yatch Club of Ann Arbor and on and on. These groups are awesome to belong to if you enjoy the main topic that much. Of course it goes without saying that there are also Bass Fishing Clubs. Why all the hype?

Well, clubs are nothing more than sub-groups of society. One doctor loves to go fishing. You can find him fishing in his spare time. When you talk with him guess where he goes vacationing? He goes spring bass fishing in Florida. If you ever want to know about the new things happening in fishing, just ask him. No just be around him and he would tell you, whether you shared his love for the sport or not.

In the winter around the Great Lakes, anglers go fishing then too. Nothing seems to stop those that love this sport that much. That is what the club atmosphere does. It breeds the topic of the club. It could be English Home Herb Garden Club of Rochester Hills or the Horticultural Society of America, it all comes down to the club agenda and the agenda is guarded over by the members there.

Bass fishing clubs have spawned many followers that can connect online in groups. If you go to Google.com and type in Bass Fishing Club, you could spend days looking at the umpteen million results that this very topic pulls from the internet. Those that love to chat can go online and get Yahoo Messenger which is a free service. You could chat back and forth with anglers from around the globe that share your level of enthusiasm for this sport.

Traditions bass fishing clubs are surely not going away by any stretch of the imagination. But they are using the new technology to keep up with their sport. From the land of make believe eg. the internet to the local chapters in your city, state or county, be sure to connect with other bass fishing club enthusiasts like yourself.

Real time tournaments where there are monetary prizes, trophies and of course bass fishing gear prizes can be located on the website of many bass fishing club homepages. This should probably be your first stop or maybe the second considering you probably want to meet up with the fishing gear representative down at the fishing club.
And remember, Carpe Diem” does not mean “fish of the day.”

The Truth About Bass Fishing Gear

You could be heading out for your annual bass fishing trip to Mexico or some other exotic location. But if you were to survey ten different experts on what is the best bass fishing gear to take, you would get ten different answers. Guaranteed!

This is no different than the annual survey Money Magazine publishes every year in February. They know that paying taxes is what most citizens are thinking of during the month of February. And using this survey they take a poll of the top tax experts in the country. They give them all the same set of data, same salary, same potential deductions and so on. Well, when you look at the results it makes something startlingly clear. The experts do not and cannot agree.

—- Bass Fishing Gear Quote —-

My biggest worry is that my wife (when I’m dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

~Koos Brandt

—- End Quote —-

That is right, just the like fishing experts, the tax experts can not get their tax returns to harmonize. The point of this story, is to highlight the fact that largemouth bass fishing tips will probably confuse you sometimes. but we’ve sifted through all of the shrapnel and come up with some non-negotiable’s for your trip.

Fishing Gear Myth #1
Number one is that you got to have a rod and a reel. I know it sounds so basic, but this is where we must start. Why? Because not everyone reading this article will have the vast bass fishing and outdoorsman experiences that you have.

It is a little difficult to fish for trophy bass without a rod and a reel. Make sure that your rod and reel are at least compatible with each other. Your line must be of a certain weight or gauge. Bass have been known to be heavy. But not as heavy as salmon for instance. But I think you get the point, get the right rod and reel to complement your gear. Trying to save a few bucks here may cost you that trophy bass in the worst way. Of course you may just be left with your memories to tell instead of having it mounted and in your trophy room.

Fishing Gear Myth #2
A second basic ingredient is that of your lures. The lures are going to take a beating, but I am not a fan of expensive lures. Yes, you need to tailor this according to the type of bass you are striving to catch. For instance deep sea bass fishing may require a lure of a different make up and composition.

Fishing Gear Myth #3
Other considerations include the use of crank bait. Using crank bait in the morning hours has been a recommendation of many professional anglers. In the morning it is crank bait and in the evening time use grubs. These seem to work best. Now there are no hard and fast rules here, but if the weather turns suddenly, your current bass fishing gear may need to change, along with your bait, and the type of lures you use. It just depends on the situation.

Are You Using Right Bass Fishing Lures?

Do you know why every barber or beautician has a lot of clippers and scissors for every head of hair they cut or trim? Because you need a different blade, a different angle and such for the style of cut each customer wants. There is no, one size fits all when it comes to hair styles.
How To Choose Your Bass Fishing Lures
Preachers of the gospel have the same desire. They have multiple versions of the Bible to choose from. Though it is debatable, they all read in a different way. With some it is an entirely different angle in that it is geared for teenagers or young adults. Heck, I’ve even seen some that are targeting grand parents of just dads. Is this necessary? Do you need to have all of those choices or would one do?

—- Quote Break —-

Scholars have long known that bass fishing eventually turns men into philosophers.  Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to buy decent tackle on a philosopher’s salary.

~Patrick F. McManus

—- End Quote —-

Most people would argue for the matter of choices. But what if it came down to bass fishing bait. Would you expect all bass to gravitate towards the same type of bait? Well, when you think of it this way, it does make you think a little differently. Large mouth bass may prefer one bait while spring bass fishing requires a different bait. When viewed in light of the more modern examples of getting a haircut or hearing a minister proclaim the gospel of Christ, you can probably see that we all have preferences. And so do the fish.

The Debate About Bass Fishing Bait Heats Up
Bass fishing bait is liken to lures, in that you may need a different bait for a different body of water, climate and a whole host of other possibilities. You can give them a dragonfly silhouette by snipping the skirt or feathering the legs a bit? This allows you to drop the clipping outside the skirt and hock it. If frogs are used in any of your bass fishing bait then you need to have dots or a design of some sort on the underbelly of the bait. You can do this yourself.

Just stop by Walmart and grab some pain and put them on yourself. A dot is a dot. You don’t need to pay the high prices with ____ (name withheld to avoid a lawsuit). Or maybe you like wasting money on something you could easily do yourself. Or better yet, let you neighborhood 14 year old paint the dots on for $5 bucks.

By adding the dots and ensuring that your pole is at least seven feet or longer (preferably), you can make the dragonfly silhouette attract bass by the boatload. This is a little trick that it takes a while to pick up. Unless you’ve got some buddy’s that may clue you in on these little secrets. Those little dots added to the frogs, gives them a genuine real life look and feel. The bass won’t be able to tell the difference, which is what you want in order to bring them in by the droves.

The Truth About Largemouth Bass Fishing Tips

Ask any fishermen what the best fighting, inch by inch, pound for pound, get em hooked and onto the ice as fast as you can fish would be the largemouth bass. These fishes are tough. The fight you to the end, and then when you think they have given up, off you go to the races again.

Know Thyself
I think Shakespeare said that. Either he did or some other person we were taught to read about in high school. But you should really know your enemy too. In this case you have got to know your largemouth bass fish will be a fighter. That is just the way they are.

These largemouth bass fishing tips may seem insignificant until you fail to bring the proper gear and lose your opportunity of a lifetime to snag and KEEP that big one!

Walking the Dog
In order to do a proper walking the dog, you have got to have slack line. Once again, if you have the wrong weighted line in the first place, get ready for heart break hotel. Just as you give the line some slack, your largemouth will use inertia to break your line. Then it is goodbye forever, to that largemouth anyway.

Not only must you have slack in the line, but the rhythmic movements of this technique makes it irresistibly SEXY for your largemouth to ignore. Why? Because you are getting right into the instincts of these fishes because other sea creatures move this way. Think about it. The frogs and other feed will move around like this. Even the insects and bait will want to feed on your snacks. They will take on a magnetic like quality that will help you land larger and larger trophy bass fishes.

Before you balk at these largemouth bass fishing tips, try them, all three of them if you dare. Spring Bass Fishing

If you were to ask ten anglers about the best place to go fishing, you’d wind up with ten different answers. Spring bass fishing is much like any other sport. Take baseball fans for instance. Many will take their annual five day vacation in Florida during the winter months in Michigan just to be around their team. Golfers will tell that the best places to golf are course like Pebble Beach and the Bear… Even a challenging sport like surfing will argue that the best waves are caught in the evening or the morning depending on where you are surfing at.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But usually people that love spring bass fishing will tell you of stories from trips they’d been on in Florida, North Carolina and Montana for instance. Are these the best places to catch bass fishes in the spring time? It is debatable. And many will make a passionate argument.

Are Florida Lakes The BEST For Spring Bass Fishing?
In Florida the lakes and rivers are large and diverse. This diversity pertains to the depth and length of the shores. Michigan has more shore line than many of the other United States. But Florida takes the cake when it comes to bass fishing, it is about as good as it will ever get here on earth that is.

Also, ‘spring bass fishing in Florida allows you to fish in an all natural habitation. Vegetation is just breath taking. The waters provide amply for them there.

Florida Spring Bass Fishing Boon For Tourism

They can accommodate most visitors needs with ease. If you fancy a charter for several of your friends for a day or two or even more, they’ve got packages for you to choose from.

There are many ending destinations since Florida is surrounded by nothing but water. Florida depends upon the tourism industry like General ‘Motors depended upon rubber tires to make their cars and trucks move out the door.

Since you’ll be in Florida taking in the bass fishing, it does not have to be all about fishing. You can take a break at night or during the daytime even, and find a fun slate of activities for everyone in your party to enjoy. Surefire Bass Fishing Tips

Everyone looks around for tips that will work. When it comes to bass fishing, tips are something that may get passed down from generation to generation. Anglers of all skill levels, revel in the fact that they learned something new and exciting. And like a little boy in a candy shop, he soon feels overwhelmed with the many choices and possibilities.
—-Notable Quotable—-

Bass fishermen watch Monday night football, drink beer, drive pickup trucks and prefer noisy women with big breasts.  Trout fishermen watch MacNeil-Lehrer, drink white wine, drive foreign cars with passenger-side air bags and hardly think about women at all.  This last characteristic may have something to do with the fact that trout fishermen spend most of the time immersed up to the thighs in ice-cold water.

When it comes to bass fishing lures, and the best type of bait to use or who know a great fishing spot along the Mexico border are all tips that we use to get bigger and better fishing expeditions (trips) going. The beauty of this is that you may come into fishing for bass with relatively NO knowledge. then you can find the right person, either in-person or online who can turn your very ordinary fishing into an oasis of bass fishing paradise.

Do you keep secrets to yourself?

As with baseball players who find that they “hit” better whenever they wear those unwashed socks for an entire season. You too can become enamored with the progress of others when it comes to fishing. But the truth of the matter is that, you should lay down your own fishing goals. Are you doing it for fun or profit is the first question. Some would argue that it is sheer foolishness not to get their goals satisfied.
What Is Your Fishing Style
Don’t over think your fishing style or technique. It does not matter if it is gold or tennis, you have to have a stroke or technique. Doing so will ensure that your current style gets flawed. Sure you can diagram it out, heck why not make a template of it on paper or some CAD type software. And above all make sure it is practical.

Make sure you cast past your bass school;s. then slowly retrieve your lure over that school of fish. This won’t be too subtle that the fish forget that your are there. Practice making some casts. You could do this indoors or outdoors. Most people like  to keep up with their hobbies and pastimes even in the off season or during the winter months. Doing so just helps them to keep abreast of their hobbies. Sure makes the off season go much quicker. And when you think about it, isn’t this exactly what the professional baseball players do. They take a break and then start Spring  Training.
